Santa Cruz is Bolivia’s largest and wealthiest city but it’s also become a centre for the country’s thriving illegal drugs trade. Bolivia is now the world’s third largest producer of cocaine and it’s also a key transit country for trafficking. All this is leading to a spike in violent crime.
